Presently ESCO in terms of its social responsibility and as a pioneer in Iran’s steel industry has accomplished to produce and install these flexible doors in its coke oven plant.

What follows is the comments made by in charge of the technical office of coke oven plant, Engineer Mehdi Zerafati in this respect: Pointing to the startup of the coke battery No. 3 in the year 2012, which totally consists of 148 doors on the both sides of coal and coke evacuation sides, Mr. Zerafati said: after a few years of operating this coke making battery, due to the long age of the plant, breakage of the doors and also their pollution problem which is an inseparable part of all steel industries in the world which we witnessed vividly, the replacement of these doors was included in our agenda in accordance with the world’s newest technology.

He further added; due to the sanctions imposed by the enemy on Iran, the provision and importing such doors was impossible, hence ESCO personnel with their peerless will, started to design and make the aforesaid doors in this company.

The Technical Specifications of Flexible Doors in Battery No. 3

In charge of the technical office of coke oven plant, Mr. Zerafati reiterated; the studies and designing for 240 sheets of the drawing related to the doors on the coke side was prepared through 1500 man-hour in one year. Each door is 7 meters long, the weight before brick lining is 4,800 Kg and after that is 7,500 Kg, each door consists of about 1,000 parts.

“More than 95 percent of the doors have been done at ESCO and slight part of it which could be also done in the plant was left to the other national companies for the speed up of the project trend” , Mr. Zerafati concluded.
